Poteca Dessert Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 yeast cake or 1 pkg of dry yeast
    1/4 cup of warm water
    3/4 cup luke warm milk
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1/4 cup shortening
    3 1/2 cups flour
    Ingredients for filling
    1/4 cup soft butter
    3/4 cup packed brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/4 cup milk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. lemon juice
    3 cups walnuts, ground
    1 cup raisins, dark or yellow
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in water, stir in milk, sugar, salt, egg and shortening. Mix in flour until dough is easy to handle.
    Turn out on lightly floured board. Let stand 10 minutes.
    Knead until smooth and elastic. Round up in a greased bowl.Cover with a damp cloth and let rise at 85\u00b0 until doubled in size. Usually takes about 2 hours. Then punch down and round up again. Let rest 15 minutes.
    Mix filling ingredients. Roll out dough at least to 20 inches x 30 inches. Spread with filling. Roll up. Cut into loaves. Put in greased pans. Let rise 1 hour at 85\u00b0 (no longer than 1 hour). Put in oven at 325\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
