Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 German chocolate cake mix with pudding in it
    1 (14 oz.) pkg. Kraft caramels
    1/2 can (3/4 c.) Eagle Brand milk
    1 1/2 sticks oleo
    1 c. pecans, chopped
    1 c. chocolate chips
    1 carton Cool Whip
Preparation
    Mix cake as directed.
    Put 1/2 batter into a 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
    Melt caramels over double boiler.
    Add milk and butter; stir until smooth.
    Pour over baked cake.
    Top with chocolate chips and pecans.
    Pour rest of cake mix over top and return to oven.
    Bake for 20 more minutes.
    Frost with Cool Whip.
