Cider Salad Mold - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. apple cider or juice
    3 whole cloves
    1 large cinnamon stick
    2 pkg. (3 oz. each) lemon flavored gelatin
    1 can (11 oz.) mandarin orange sections, drained
    1 apple, cored and sliced
    1 apple, cored and chopped
Preparation
    In medium saucepan, bring to a boil cider, cloves and cinnamon. Reduce heat to low.
    Simmer 15 minutes; strain.
    In medium bowl, stir hot cider mixture into gelatin until gelatin dissolves.
    Pour 1 cup into 6-cup mold.
    Chill until consistency of unbeaten egg whites.
    Set remaining gelatin aside at room temperature.
    Arrange orange sections and apple slices in partially set gelatin.
    Chill until firm.
    Meanwhile, chill remaining gelatin mixture until consistency of unbeaten egg whites.
    Gently stir in chopped apple. Spoon into mold over orange layer.
    Chill until firm.
    Unmold on serving dish.
    Garnish as desired.
    Makes 12 servings.
