Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
1/4 lb. butter
1 egg, beaten
1 3/4 c. flour
1 Tbsp. cream of tartar
1/2 Tbsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Mix sugar and butter.
Add egg, then flour and remaining ingredients.
Make 2 log-type rolls about 1 1/2-inch in diameter. Put in refrigerator or freezer.
(Can be kept for days.)
Slice 1/4 to 1/2-inch slices and bake on greased cookie sheet at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
