Ingredients

2 Tbsp. olive oil
4 large onions, sliced
2 c. lentils
1 c. rice or bulgur wheat, washed
5 c. water (more or less)
salt
pepper
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Put olive oil in iron frying pan.
When hot, place onions until blackened.
In separate pot, put remaining ingredients.
Add onions to pot.
Rinse frying pan with small amount of water; add to pot. Bring to boil with high heat, then lower to medium-low heat.
Cook on slow heat until well done, approximately 1 hour.
Serve with salad and pita bread.
