Shortbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter (set out day ahead)
    2/3 c. sugar
    approximately 1 tsp. salt
    3 c. flour
Preparation
    Cream butter; add sugar and salt.
    Add 1 cup flour at a time until all flour is mixed in; when adding third cup, mix in by hand. (You may not need all of third cup.)
    Put in ungreased round cake pan.
    Press firmly in pan with spoon.
    Smooth down.
    Take thumb and press around outside to create thumbprint.
    Prick top with fork. Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour.
