Boiled Raisin Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. seeded raisins
1 c. water
1/2 c. chopped dates
1 c. sugar
1 c. cold water
1/2 c. Crisco shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cloves
Preparation

Boil raisins, water and dates 20 minutes slowly (simmer).
Add sugar, cold water and shortening.
Let this mixture get cool.
Then add baking soda, cinnamon, flour, salt and cloves.
Mix well.
Put in greased and floured 9 x 9-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
