Christmas Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. snowdrift
    1 c. packed brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/4 c. buttermilk
    2 c. sifted Red Band self rising flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. chopped dates
    2 c. candied cherries (1 red, 1 green)
Preparation
    Mix snowdrift, brown sugar and eggs well. Add buttermilk, sift together dry ingredients and stir into mixture. Add pecans, dates and candied cherries. Chill dough one hour. Drop with teaspoon about 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Top cookie with pecan halve or half of cherry. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 - 12 minutes. Makes 4 dozen.
