Homemade Beef Stroganoff - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. round steak, cut in 1/2-inch strips and well trimmed
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. brown gravy mix
    2 c. cold water
    2 (4 oz.) cans mushrooms, sliced and drained
    1 1/2 c. sour cream
    noodles
Preparation
    Brown meat in a small amount of vegetable oil.
    Add onions to beef.
    Simmer 15 minutes.
    Add brown gravy mix to cold water; add to meat.
    Simmer 10 more minutes.
    Add mushrooms.
    Slowly add sour cream to meat mixture.
    Serve hot over cooked noodles.
    Makes 8 servings.
