Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. dark (green label) Brer Rabbit molasses
    1/2 c. butter
    3 c. flour
    1 c. sour milk
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ground cloves
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. ginger (optional)
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1/4 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Mix as for cake.
    Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes.
    Floured raisins may be added, if desired.
    Omit ginger for molasses cake.
    Serve with hot lemon sauce.
