Pine Tarts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can crushed pineapple in own juice
    3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    3 to 4 Tbsp. ice water
    melted margarine or beaten egg yolk
Preparation
    Cook pineapple in juice with sugar until thickened on a slow fire; set aside to cool.
    Sift flour and salt in mixing bowl.
    Cut shortening in with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture is in pieces about the size of peas.
    Add ice water a little at a time and toss mixture with a fork until flour is dampened.
    Chill for 1/2 hour.
    Roll out dough; cut pieces into squares.
    Place pineapple mixture in center (about a tablespoon).
    Fold ends to form triangle.
    Brush with melted margarine or beaten egg yolk and bake for 1/2 to 3/4 hour at 350\u00b0 in preheated oven.
