Texican Tortilla Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    2 c. water
    1 lb. can tomatoes
    1 (15 oz.) can Ranch Style beans
    1 (12 oz.) can whole kernel corn
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 (4 oz.) can green chiles
    chili powder to taste
    6 corn tortillas, cut in 1/2-inch strips
Preparation
    In Dutch oven, brown and crumble beef with onion, salt and pepper; drain.
    Add remaining ingredients, except tortillas. Slowly simmer for 1 hour.
