Southern Spoon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk
    1 c. corn meal
    4 Tbsp. butter
    4 eggs, separated
    1 Tbsp. salt
Preparation
    Pour milk into top of double boiler and cook until it almost comes to a boil.
    Slowly add corn meal, stirring constantly.
    Cook until mixture is thick and smooth, approximately 1 minute.
    Add butter and salt and cool slightly.
    Beat yolks and add to corn meal mixture.
    Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into corn meal. Pour into buttered casserole dish and bake in preheated 375\u00b0 oven for 35 to 40 minutes until puffed and well browned.
    Serve immediately.
    Serves 6.
