Corn Fritters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg, beaten
    2 Tbsp. melted butter
    1 c. corn, either cooked or freshly grated
Preparation
    Sift the flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl.
    Add the egg, melted butter and corn.
    Add enough water to make a very stiff mixture.
    Drop by spoonfuls into hot deep fat (360\u00b0).
    Serve with maple syrup or chicken gravy.
