Ingredients

6 apples (tart, prefer Granny Smith)
1/2 c. sugar, mixed with 1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
butter or margarine
Preparation

Into bottom of buttered baking dish, put thick layers of thinly sliced apples.
Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon mixture.
In mixing bowl, sift together sugar, baking powder, flour and salt.
Into this, pour beaten egg and mix until crumbly with fork.
Spread over apples, dot with thin slices of butter and bake in a 350\u00b0 oven until crust is brown, about 25 to 30 minutes.
Serve with milk or whipped cream, if desired.
Ice cream is also good.
