Sauce For Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. flour
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice or 1 tsp. each lemon and vanilla extracts
Preparation
    Melt butter in a saucepan.
    Add and blend thoroughly the flour, sugar and water.
    Cook until sauce thickens, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat and add flavoring.
    Pour over cake.
