Scalloped Cabbage(Freda Adams - Bethel, Ohio) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. shredded cabbage
    1/2 onion, sliced very thin
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/3 c. dry bread crumbs
    1/2 c. grated cheese
    1 c. hot milk
    2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Drop cabbage into boiling water and boil until barely tender, about 5 minutes.
    Drain.
    Put half of the cabbage in a buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole, spreading evenly.
    Top with remaining cabbage, onion, sugar, salt and pepper.
    Sprinkle with cheese, then bread crumbs.
    Pour the milk evenly over all.
    Dot with butter.
    Bake in a 400\u00b0 oven for 14 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
