Wassail Cup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. apple cider
    1 c. apple brandy or apple jack
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    10 whole cloves
    1 (3-inch) stick cinnamon
    1 apple, thinly sliced
    1 lemon, thinly sliced
Preparation
    Combine apple cider and brandy or apple jack in a large saucepan.
    Stir in sugar; add cloves and cinnamon.
    Heat over low heat until just warm.
    Transfer to a punch bowl.
    Float apple and lemon slices on top.
