Cracker Jacks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. light brown sugar
    1/2 c. molasses or less
    2/3 c. butter
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients in a saucepan. Boil until mixture forms a soft ball in cold water.
    Remove from fire and add 1/2 teaspoon of soda.
    Pour over 4 quarts of popped corn while foaming.
