Red Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 c. sour milk
    1 c. boiling water
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. cocoa
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add unbeaten eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla and milk, alternating milk with flour which has been sifted with salt, soda and cocoa.
    Add boiling water all at once; stir until well mixed.
    Bake in three 8-inch layer pans or one 9 x 12-inch sheet cake pan.
    This is a large, moist cake that will keep well.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes.
    Top with your favorite chocolate frosting.
