Date Porcupine Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. dates
    2 1/4 c. Rice Krispies
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. coconut
Preparation
    Beat eggs with sugar and salt until thick.
    Add dates.
    Turn mixture into heavy saucepan and cook over low heat, about 10 minutes.
    Remove from heat and add cereal, chopped nuts and vanilla.
    When mixture is cool enough to handle, pinch off small portions and form into ball.
    Then roll each ball in the coconut as you form them.
    Cool; store in cool dry covered container.
