Boiled Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. molasses or brown sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. sour milk
    2 c. raisins
    1/2 c. nuts
    any other kinds chopped, dried fruits you wish (prunes, dates, etc.)
    4 eggs, beaten
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. allspice
Preparation
    Add enough flour to make a very stiff dough (one that can still be stirred).
    Spoon into a cloth that has been greased and floured.
    Tie with string about the width of 3 fingers from where dough has been gathered into a bag.
    Boil at least 3 1/2 or 4 hours.
    Take out of rag as soon as removed from pot of boiling water.
