Artie'S Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. applesauce
3 c. sugar
1 c. nuts, chopped
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. allspice
1 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 box raisins
1/2 pkg. chopped dates
5 c. flour
2 c. shortening
32 oz. candied cherries
16 oz. candied mixed fruits
Preparation

Preheat oven
to
375\u00b0.
Cream\tsugar and shortening in large mixing bowl;
add
flour,
baking soda, salt, nuts, raisins, dates,
candied
fruits and spices.
Heat applesauce and add to mixture.
Fold
together
until
mixture is completely consistent. Grease sides,
bottom
and
stem of an angel food cake tin.
Line with waxed paper.
Place fruit cake mixture in cake tin.
Bake 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 hours.
