Layered English Pea Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (16 oz.) pkg. frozen English peas, thawed
    1/3 c. chopped onion
    1/3 c. chopped celery
    2 c. chopped lettuce
    1/3 c. sour cream
    3/4 c. mayonnaise
    1 1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. dried whole basil
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    8 to 10 slices bacon, diced, browned and drained
Preparation
    Layer first 4 ingredients in a 2-quart bowl.
    Mix the sour cream and mayo with the sugar and seasonings.
    Spread over first 4 ingredients, sealing the edges.
    Top with shredded cheese and bacon.
    Chill.
