Grandma'S Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. carrots
    1 large stalk celery
    1 small solid head cabbage
    6 medium onions
    tomatoes
Preparation
    Put first 4 ingredients, cleaned and chopped, into a large container or soup pot.
    Match this amount with equal quantity of peeled tomatoes.
    Add salt to taste.
    Simmer until vegetables are tender, but not mushy.
