Grandma'S Spoon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. corn meal (white)
    2 tsp. butter, melted
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. milk, scalded
    1 tsp. sugar
    2 eggs, separated
Preparation
    Add the corn meal gradually to the milk, stirring constantly to prevent lumping.
    Cook over moderate heat for at least 15 minutes until the mixture thickens.
    Add butter, sugar and salt; set aside for a few moments while you beat the egg yolks.
    Spoon and stir the yolks into corn meal mixture; set aside while you beat the egg whites stiffly.
    Fold them into the corn meal mixture, stirring well, but slowly.
    Pour into a greased casserole or cast-iron skillet.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 45 minutes.
    Serve hot from the baking container with milk, apple butter, ham and beans!
