Schmierkucken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. milk
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. warm water
    2 pkg. yeast
    1 egg
    4 c. flour
Preparation
    Scald milk.
    Add sugar, salt and butter.
    Cool.
    Measure water and add yeast.
    Stir into milk mixture.
    Add egg and half of flour.
    Beat until smooth.
    Add remaining flour.
    Cover tightly and refrigerate for 3 hours. May be left in fridge for 3 days. Makes 4 coffee cakes. Roll out like pie crust, less than 1/2-inch thick. Put in a greased pan and add filling.
