Corn Creole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 onion, chopped
    5 Tbsp. bacon fat
    1 clove garlic, chopped
    1 can cream-style corn
    1 egg, beaten
    2 c. milk
    1/2 c. corn meal
    red pepper to taste
    black pepper to taste
    salt to taste
    Italian bread crumbs
    butter or margarine
Preparation
    Saute chopped onion in bacon fat with finely chopped garlic. Add corn.
    Add egg beaten with milk.
    Add corn meal and season to taste with salt, red and black pepper.
    Stir over medium heat until mixture is thick.
    Pour into buttered casserole.
    Sprinkle top with bread crumbs and dot with butter.
    Place in oven to keep warm.
    Serves 6 to 7.
