Remi'S Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. cocoa powder
1/2 c. boiling water
2/3 c. shortening
1 3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
1 1/3 c. buttermilk
Preparation

In a small bowl, stir together cocoa and boiling water until smooth; set aside.
Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease and flour 2 round pans (9 x 1 1/2-inch).
In a large mixer bowl, cream the shortening, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy.
Add eggs; beat well.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt.
Add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture.
Blend in cocoa mixture.
Pour into prepared pans.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool 10 minutes and remove from pans.
Cool completely and frost with Chocolate Buttercream Frosting.
