Pickled Peaches - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. peaches
    2 lb. brown sugar
    1 pt. vinegar
    stick cinnamon
    whole cloves
Preparation
    Use peaches, not too ripe.
    Peel them and stick each one with 4 or 5 cloves.
    Simmer sugar, vinegar and cinnamon together for 20 minutes.
    Put peaches in syrup a few at a time and cook until tender.
    Skim out and pack in sterilized jars.
    Boil down syrup until thick.
    Fill the jars with it and seal.
