Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 c. corn meal
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. sifted flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/4 c. melted butter
Preparation
    Set pan in a 450\u00b0 oven to preheat.
    Beat egg until light. Beat in buttermilk and soda.
    Sift dry ingredients; add to liquid mixture.
    Beat in butter.
    Grease hot pan (muffin or 10-inch pie plate); fill almost full with mixture.
    Bake for about 15 minutes. Remove from oven; brush top with soft butter.
    Place under broiler for about 1 minute, or in very hot oven for 3 to 4 minutes, until golden brown.
