Boiled Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 firm head cabbage
Preparation
    Remove bruised outer leaves; discard and wash under running water.
    Cut in fourths; remove the stalk part and cut in small wedges or chunks.
    Place in large pot or saucepan.
    Fill about 1/3 up on cabbage with water.
    Cook on medium-high until tender.
    It cooks in a short time (I test it with meat fork).
    Add salt and black pepper to taste.
    Also, add 1 tablespoon of sugar.
    If more liquid than
    you prefer, remove some before seasoning with two or three tablespoons of bacon drippings or margarine.
