Amish Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 gal. cucumbers (ask for pickling cucumbers)
1/2 c. salt
8 small onions
5 c. sugar
2 c. water
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. celery seed
3 c. cider vinegar
1 tsp. turmeric
2 Tbsp. mustard seed
Preparation
-
Slice cucumbers and onions thin.
Mix the salt in.
Cover and let stand for 3 hours.
Drain very well.
Make mixture of remaining ingredients and place over the cukes.
Set your pot on low heat.
Heat to a scalding point.
Do not boil.
Can and seal.
