Two Toned Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 oz. chocolate, melted
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar; add well-beaten eggs and vanilla.
    Add flour and salt.
    Stir in pecans.
    Divide batter and pour half in a greased and floured 8-inch pan.
    Add chocolate in rest of batter; spread on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 35 minutes.
    Frost with chocolate confectioners icing.
