Southern Crackling Cornbread - cooking recipe

4 c. cornmeal
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
4 eggs beaten
4 c. buttermilk
1/3 c. bacon drippings
1 c. cracklings
Preparation

Combine cornmeal, soda, and
salt. Mix well. Stir in beaten eggs and milk. Heat bacon drippings
pan until hot. Add drippings and cracklings to batter. Mix well. Pour into hot pan. Bake at 450\u00b0 for 25 minutes until bread is golden. Cut in squares. Makes 15 to 20 servings.
