Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 or 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck or ground sirloin
    3 onions, chopped
    1 clove garlic, minced
    2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes
    24 oz. V-8 juice
    2 cans consomme
    2 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
    1/2 c. rice
    1/2 c. spaghetti, broken up (or diced potatoes)
    1 (24 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
Preparation
    Brown meat and saute onions and garlic.
    Add consomme, water, tomatoes (break whole tomatoes in pieces), V-8 and seasonings. Simmer about 30 minutes.
    Add rice, spaghetti and vegetables. Simmer 20 minutes.
    This makes a very thick soup.
    It may be diluted with tomato juice, V-8 or water, if desired.
    Makes about a gallon.
