Stack Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. ginger
    ??? egg
    pinch of salt
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 c. molasses
Preparation
    Use enough buttermilk to make dough soft.
    Mix with electric mixer until smooth.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for approximately 20 minutes.
    It makes 3 layers.
    Pour into cake pans (sort of thin).
    The layers will be stacked.
    Put apple butter or dried apples between each layer.
