Apple Brown Betty - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. fine, dry crumbs
    4 tart apples, pared and diced
    3 Tbsp. melted table fat
Preparation
    Mix sugar, cinnamon, salt.
    Put layer of crumbs in greased baking dish.
    Cover with layer of apples.
    Sprinkle with sugar mixture.
    Continue until all ingredients are used.
    Have layer of crumbs on top.
    Pour melted fat over crumbs.
    Cover dish.
    Bake at 375\u00b0
    (moderate oven) 40 minutes.
    Remove cover the last 10 minute to brown the top.
    Yield:
    4 servings.
