Chicken Chow Mein - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 stewing size chicken
2 medium onions, chopped
2 c. chicken broth
1/2 to 1 bottle soy sauce
3 Tbsp. cooking oil
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 can bean sprouts
1 can water chestnuts
1 can bamboo shoots
1 clove garlic (optional)
2 c. chopped celery
1 can mushrooms
pepper to taste
1 can chow mein noodles or hot fluffy rice
Preparation

Debone cooked chicken, cut in small pieces and set aside. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
In large skillet, heat oil and saute onions over medium heat.
Blend in cornstarch, water, soy sauce and black pepper.
Let thicken slightly.
Add bean sprouts, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, garlic, mushrooms and chicken; simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
Add celery; simmer 5 minutes longer.
Celery should be crunchy.
Serve over rice or noodles.
Serves 6 to 8.
