Brown Bread (1920) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cups raisins
    2 cups cold water
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 egg
    3 cups flour
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    2 tsp. baking soda
    salt
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients together and fill pans half full. Bake at 345 degrees for 45 minutes.
