Pecan Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. white Karo syrup
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 eggs, beaten
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. pecans
Preparation
    Combine sugar, syrup, butter and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
    Pour this hot syrup slowly over beaten eggs, stirring constantly. Cool. Add vanilla and pecans; pour
    into pie shell. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 375\u00b0 and bake 35 to 40 minutes longer.
    (I don't usually let my syrup mixture cool before baking.)
