Brown Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (15 oz.) box raisins
    3 c. water
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. margarine
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    5 c. flour
    4 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Bring raisins and water to a boil in covered saucepan.
    Set aside to cool.
    Cream margarine and sugar.
    Beat in eggs and vanilla.
    Sift together flour, baking soda and salt.
    Alternately add raisins and flour mixture to the liquid.
    Mix in nuts.
    Oil four 1 pound coffee cans.
    Divide batter evenly (1/2 full).
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Turn out on rack to cool.
