Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. boiling water
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. chopped pitted dates
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. brown sugar, packed
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. flour
Preparation
    Combine first 4 ingredients. Cook, stirring constantly, 4 minutes. Cool completely. Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat until fluffy. Add flour, alternating with date mixture. Mix well. Bake in greased and floured tins at 325\u00b0 for 50 minutes to 1 hour.
