English Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 to 6 c. Granny Smith apples
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/3 c. butter
    1 c. flour
    1/2 c. brown sugar
Preparation
    Butter or grease 9-inch pie dish.
    Pour in 1/2 cup granulated sugar.
    Slice in apples, heaped to rim of dish.
    Mix butter, flour and brown sugar together (will be crumbly).
    Place on top of apples.
    Pat firmly.
    Sprinkle cinnamon on top.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour, until topping bubbles.
    Serve plain or with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
