Pecan Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. light cream or evaporated milk
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. pecan halves
Preparation
    Dissolve sugars in cream and boil to the thread test (228\u00b0), stirring occasionally.
    Add butter and pecans.
    Cook until syrup reaches soft ball test.
    Cool; beat until somewhat thickened but not until it loses its gloss.
    Drop by tablespoonfuls onto double thickness waxed paper.
    Candy will flatten into large cakes.
    Makes 12.
