Hamburger Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground beef
    1 c. diced onion
    1 c. raw diced potatoes
    1 c. sliced carrots
    1 can stewed tomatoes
    1/4 c. sliced celery
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 qt. water
    1 can beef broth
    1/2 c. uncooked rice
Preparation
    Brown the ground beef and onion in soup kettle.
    Add remaining ingredients and cook slowly for 1 hour.
    This soup will be quite thick.
    Remove bay leaf before serving.
    Serve with garlic bread.
