Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. orange slices
    1 lb. dates
    2 c. pecans
    2 sticks butter
    2 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    4 eggs
    7 oz. coconut
    orange rind
Preparation
    Cut fruit and nuts in small pieces.
    Leave cut up overnight in pan.
    Sift 2 cups flour over mixture.
    Cream butter and sugar with eggs.
    Add soda with remaining flour and buttermilk to mixture. Pour over fruit mixture; mix well.
    Bake 2 1/2 hours at 275\u00b0. While hot, mix 2 cups brown sugar with 1 cup orange juice and pour over cake.
