Ingredients

figs
1/4 as much sugar as figs
water
lemon slices
Preparation

Put sugar on stove in
enough water to dissolve and let come to a boil.\tDrop in figs
and
boil
until tender or so a straw sticks through them
easily.
Take\tfigs
out
and leave syrup to cook on longer.
Drop
in
a
few
slices of lemon to boil in syrup.
Boil syrup until it spins a thread.
Drop figs back in and cook a few\tminutes
longer.
Take\tup and seal in jars.
