Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. butter
6 apples, pared and cored and cut in fourths
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Make a syrup of the sugar, water and cinnamon.\tAdd the butter.
Sift the flour, salt and baking powder together.
Cut in the shortening.
Add the milk; stir until moistened.
Roll dough 1/4-inch
thick;
cut
into
5-inch squares.
Arrange 4 pieces
of apple
on each piece of dough; sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Dot with butter.
Fold corners to center; pinch edges
together. Place,

inch
apart,
on a greased baking dish.\tPour
over the
mixture
of sugar, water, cinnamon and butter (which
has been brought to a boil).
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 minutes, or until apples are done.
