Scones - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. all-purpose flour
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 sticks unsalted butter
    2 large eggs, beaten
    dried cranberries or raisins (optional)
    buttermilk
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
    Sift together flour, sugar, baking soda and cream of tartar, then sift again.
    Cut in the butter. Add a handful of dried cranberries or raisins and the beaten eggs. Blend everything well and then begin adding buttermilk, a little at a time, until you have formed a stiff dough.
    Roll the dough out on a flat surface to a thickness of 1 1/2-inches, then cut out 2-inch round.
    Place on parchment paper and brush with beaten egg and bake for 18 to 20 minutes.
